Recipe for Hard Sauce


1/3 cup butter
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla or
2 tablespoon cognac or rum


Cream 1/3 cup of butter until soft. Add, a little at a time, 1 cup confectioners' sugar and either 1 tsp of vanilla or 2 Tbs cognac or rum, stirring until smooth. Serve cold with steamed puddings or on apple pie.
