2 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 each apple, peeled, cored, sliced
1 teaspoon caraway seeds
1 each salt
1 cup onion, coarsely sliced
1 each cabbage head, shredded
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 each white pepper, freshly ground
Melt the butter in a skillet and add the onion and garlic. Cook, stirring, until wilted. Do not brown. Add the cabbage, apple, vinegar, caraway seeds, chicken broth, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, stir, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Uncover and if there is too much liquid, reduce it accordingly. Serves 4.
