Recipe for Harvest Ham Bake


2 medium squash, acorn
1 1/2 lb ham; sliced 1/2 thick
1/3 cup sugar, brown; firmly packed
2 tablespoon mustard, dry
2 teaspoon water
3 medium apples, cooking; cut in 1/2 slices
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, ground
2 tablespoon butter (or marg.)
2 cup apple cider


Wash squash; cut into 1/4" slices, and remove seeds. Place slices in a 2-1/2 quart casserole and arrange ham slices on top.

Combine sugar, mustard, and water; spread over ham.

Arrange apples over ham; sprinkle with nutmeg, and dot with butter. Pour cider over casserole. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hours, basting often.
