Recipe for Bethany's Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies


1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup butter crisco
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 pkg (6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips, m; inature


* Preheat oven to 375 F.

1. Combine the sugars, Crisco, egg and vanilla. Beat together with electric mixer or wooden spoon until light and fluffy.

2. Stir in the flour mixed with salt and baking soda. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop by spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, at least 2 inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 mins. Remove and let cool completely on racks.

Recipe may be doubled.
