Recipe for Rigatoni With Hearty Meat Sauce


1 lb rigatoni
1 lb ground beef
1 onion; diced
1 cup green pepper; cubed
28 oz tomatoes, whole with liquid
6 oz tomato paste
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 season to taste


Cook rigatoni according to package directions; drain. In large saucepan, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until meat is browned and vegetables are tender (about 10 minutes), stirring frequently. Add tomatoes with remaining ingredients. Break up tomatoes with edge of spoon. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour over rigatoni sauce and serve.
