Recipe for Cabbage & Mushroom Filling For Pierogies


1 cabbage
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 large onion -- halved and sliced
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 oz mushrooms -- stems and
1 pieces
2 eggs; hardcooked -- chopped
2 tablespoon butter or margarine


Combine the cabbage, water, onion, mushrooms and butter in a large saucepan. Cook covered over low heat till tender, about 30 min. Add salt pepper and chopped eggs; mix well. Makes about 3 1/2 cups
