Recipe for Mulled Red Wine


1 teaspoon superfine sugar
1/4 cup ; water
5 oz red wine
1 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1 dash orange bitters
1 pinch ground cinnamon


Combine sugar, water in a small saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Add wine, lemon juice, bitters, cinnamon; stir. Pour drink into a warmed 8 oz. mug. Mull with a red hot poker.
